Outlook

Purpose: Give DII and its members a forward view of how emerging workloads and innovations will reshape demand for digital infrastructure, so members can anticipate the capacity, power, cooling, design, and skills implications and can continue position Ireland as the thought leader ahead of the curve.

Working Committee Scope

  • Tracking emerging and evolving high-growth workloads: AI training and inference, cybersecurity, quantum, edge, and their successors.

  • Translating workload trends into infrastructure implications: power density, cooling, connectivity, latency, land, and grid.

  • Horizon-scanning on the technologies, standards, and geopolitics that will shape future demand.

  • Horizon-scanning on the innovations emerging to address future challenges and exposing the implications of these on the status quo.

  • Identifying the opportunities and risks these shifts create for DII members and for Ireland’s positioning.

  • Feeding forward-looking intelligence into the other committees — Deployment, Investment, Policy, Sustainability, and Talent & Skills.
