Working Committee Charter
Policy
Purpose: to give DII a credible, coordinated voice on the policy and regulatory environment that shapes digital infrastructure in Ireland and in the international markets where partners operate.
Working Committee Scope
Irish and EU policy on planning, grid connection, energy, data, spectrum, digital sovereignty and environment, with a focus towards Irish stakeholders such as DECC, EirGrid, Uisce Éireann ComReg, Dept of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment, Dept of Finance, Dept of Housing, Local Gov and Heritage, Dept of Public Expenditure and Reform, IDA Ireland, Enterprise Ireland, and Research Ireland (encompassing SFI).
The focus in Europe should be towards the European Commission bodies including DG Energy, DG Growth, DG Environment, DG Climate, DG Move, DG Competition, and DG Connect it should also include BEREC, and ENISA.Engagement with government departments, regulators, agencies, and industry bodies.
Tracking international regulatory trends relevant to members operating or selling abroad.
Coordinating DII position papers, consultation responses, and public statements, repurposing outputs from other DII working committees where possible.
Ensuring policy advocacy reflects the expanded DII ecosystem, not single segments.
Advising the DII CEO, Board and Chairperson on matters policy related, and providing pre-meeting briefings where appropriate.
