Purpose: Ensure Ireland’s digital infrastructure sector and DII members operating internationally can attract, develop, and retain the skills and people needed to deliver at scale, and position that talent base form Ireland as a distinct competitive advantage in DII’s proposition to the global markets.

Working Committee Scope

Heat mapping current and future skills demand across the value chain: data centres, power and grid, fibre and connectivity, construction and EPC, design and engineering, operations, and emerging technical roles.
Identifying and developing talent pipeline: routes into the industry (apprenticeships, further and higher education, conversion, international), retention, and progression.
Engagement with education providers, SOLAS, Skillnet Ireland, skills bodies, the national apprenticeship office, and government on curricula, funding, and workforce planning.
Identifying skills gaps and bottlenecks that constrain deployment and proposing collective responses.
Showcasing sector careers and the talent story to domestic and international audiences, building on DII’s careers and Talent Spotlight work.
Elevating sector awareness through participation in the likes of the young scientist and technology exhibition, Higher Options, Workskills Ireland, open days for the main universities, Engineers week (March), Science Week (November).
Establish an internship gateway between the partners and the 3rd level education programmes.
