Digital Infrastructure Ireland is proud to spotlight the launch of a dynamic new initiative by Drogheda Institute of Further Education (DIFE) — the Advanced Electrical & Engineering Technology Programme — designed to equip students with cutting-edge technical skills and real-world industry experience.

This programme is a shining example of the growing synergy between education and enterprise. We are especially delighted that two of our partner companies, Suretank and Anord Mardix, are actively involved in this exciting project, helping to nurture the next generation of electrical and engineering professionals.

Launched with strong support from the business community, the programme bridges the gap between classroom learning and on-the-ground application. Students will benefit from hands-on training, mentorship, and exposure to the day-to-day realities of the electrical and engineering industries. According to DIFE Principal Davy McDonnell, “We’re proud to be offering a course that is both forward-thinking and deeply connected to local industry. This partnership model ensures students are developing the exact skills employers are seeking.” (source: Drogheda Live, Monday 5th May, 2025)

Suretank, a global leader in engineering solutions, expressed pride in collaborating with DIFE. Their recent LinkedIn announcement highlighted the importance of partnerships like this in “building a stronger, more skilled workforce for the future.” By actively contributing to curriculum development and mentoring students, companies like Suretank and Anord Mardix are playing a direct role in shaping Ireland’s talent pipeline.

The Advanced Electrical & Engineering Technology Programme is more than just a course — it's a forward-facing platform that aligns with national priorities for digital infrastructure and sustainable development. It stands as a model of how regional institutions and industry leaders can come together to build a smarter, more capable workforce ready for the demands of tomorrow.
