Registration is now open for the Telecoms & Data Apprenticeship, a two-year, industry-led programme starting in October 2025. Employers who participate will gain motivated apprentices trained in the latest telecoms and data skills through a unique blend of in-company learning and structured study at TU Dublin, Tallaght Campus.

The demand for skilled professionals in telecoms and data infrastructure has never been greater. To help meet this need, the Telecoms & Data Apprenticeship - a Consortium Led Apprenticeship (CLA) strategically designed by industry leaders—offers employers a direct way to develop future-ready talent while addressing current skills gaps.

Programme Structure

  • In-Company Training: Apprentices are fully employed by your company, contributing to your operations while building practical expertise.

  • Off-the-Job Learning: Delivered in four two-week blocks per year at TU Dublin (8 weeks annually).


Year 1 subjects:

  • Network Installations

  • Telecoms Technology

  • Electrical Principles

  • Customer Service


Year 2 subjects:

  • Broadband & Wireless

  • Optical Fibre Installations

  • Optical Fibre Maintenance & Commissioning

  • Personal & Professional Development
