DUBLIN, IRELAND - Dublin, Ireland – 07 May 2026 – Digital Infrastructure Ireland (DII) has announced the launch of Convergence: Digital Infrastructure Ireland Conference 2026, a new national conference created to address a defining question for Ireland and Europe: how to turn AI ambition into real-world delivery through digital infrastructure.
Taking place on Thursday, 22 October 2026 at Croke Park, Dublin, Convergence 2026 will bring together policymakers, regulators, industry leaders, energy stakeholders and investors to focus on the role of digital infrastructure in delivering Ireland’s strategic ambitions.
The event is closely aligned with Ireland’s role in shaping Europe’s future during its EU Council Presidency. During Ireland’s tenure, a key focus will be on how AI will support European growth, innovation and resilience. Convergence 2026 extends that focus by addressing the infrastructure required to support that delivery.
Digital infrastructure underpins AI, cloud and every modern digital service, enabling enterprise, supporting public services and connecting Ireland to the global economy. The issue is no longer demand for digital infrastructure, but delivery. Power availability, planning complexity and investment certainty are now the defining constraints shaping how Ireland and Europe move forward.
Convergence 2026 has been created in direct response to this shift. The conference brings together the full ecosystem including those responsible for shaping policy, regulating markets, delivering infrastructure and financing growth. It is designed to focus on practical pathways forward, creating a senior-level environment for strategic discussion on addressing real-world constraints and aligning policy, energy and digital infrastructure to unlock delivery at scale. The event will also bring together leading voices from across Ireland and beyond, with a strong line-up of national and international speakers.
Digital Infrastructure Ireland has played a central role in shaping Ireland’s digital infrastructure landscape for more than a decade. Through established relationships across government, regulators, industry and investors, DII provides a trusted platform to bring clarity to complex issues and drive meaningful progress.
Michelle Wallace, Interim CEO of Digital Infrastructure Ireland, said:
“We’re at a really important moment for Ireland and for Europe. There’s huge ambition around AI and what it can deliver for growth, innovation and resilience, but ambition on its own isn’t enough.
Convergence 2026 is about bringing the right people into the room to focus on what actually needs to happen next. Policy, energy and infrastructure all have to move together if we’re going to deliver at the scale required.
This is where that alignment starts to take shape and where we begin to turn ambition into delivery.”
